Oxygen’s getting into a new groove–and it includes pulling a ‘Dancing’ switcheroo.

Former Spice Girl Melanie Brown has been named the new host of ‘Dance Your Ass Off‘ when the Oxygen hit returns this summer for its second season.

Mel B. replaces her fellow ‘Dancing with the Stars‘ alum Melissa Jaret Winokur, who hosted Season 1 of ‘Dance,’ which features “full-figured contestants who struggle with their weight and dance to unleash their inner thin.”

The hosting change was made because “viewers grew up as Spice Girl fans and love Mel B.,” according to a producer.

Mel B. tangoed to the top of ‘DWTS’ Season 5, coming in as the runner-up with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy. The memorably energetic Winokur made it to the Final Four with toothy Tony Dovolani in Season 6.

“After the birth of my second daughter, I wanted to find a fun and effective way to drop the pounds and get back in shape,” Mel B. says. “I learned firsthand that dancing was the key to shedding off the pounds and keeping them off.”

The 34-year-old mother of two starts filming her new gig as soon as next week.

The new edition of ‘Dance’ will air on Monday nights, a new night of original programming for the cable network. ‘Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood’ will launch the new night when Season 5 returns this spring.

Other announcements made by Oxygen during their presentation at the TCA winter press tour include the following new shows:
