A few nuggets of casting news to appease you until the next Big Tease column posts on Tuesday:

‘FORGOTTEN’ APPARENTLY REMEMBERS ‘GHOST WHISPERER’: Aisha Tyler, who starred on Season 1 of ‘Ghost Whisperer‘ and now voices Agent Kane on FX’s ‘Archer,’ has been tapped for a guest gig on ABC’s ‘The Forgotten.’ In a March episode of the freshman drama, Tyler will play Lydia, an old high school friend of Alex (Christian Slater) who brings a case she was personally involved in to the Forgotten Network.

‘DIARIES’ DISH: Heather writes, “‘The Vampire Diaries‘ has made frequent references to Jonathan Gilbert, Elena and Jeremy’s direct-line ancestor and an author/investor in Mystic Falls back in 1864. With the news that more flashbacks are coming up, any word on will play Jonathan?” I checked into this for you, Heather, and the role went to Joe Knezevich, an actor from Atlanta (where ‘TVD’ hangs its fangs). Joe’s credits include ‘Drop Dead Diva’ and ‘The Librarian 3: The Curse of the Judas Chalice.’

He’ll show up on February 10 as the father of Laurie’s banker boyfriend, Smith (played by Ryan Devlin). Connecting the dots: Bill Lawrence created both ‘Spin City‘ and ‘Cougar Town.’ Also in ‘Town’: Beverly D’Angelo (‘National Lampoon’s Vacation’) will play Laurie’s own mom in a February episode (

‘DAMAGES’ SAYS UNCLE: Dominic Chianese (aka Uncle Junior on ‘The Sopranos’) has booked a multi-episode arc on FX’s ‘Damages,’ playing a shady associate of a family Patty is representing, says ‘Damages’ debuts its third season on January 25.
