Did ‘Idol’ Sensation Rip His ‘Pants’?

In the fickle game of fame, they build you up … and then they knock you down.

American Idol‘ sensation Larry Platt is being accused of ripping off his notorious ‘Pants’ anthem. The 63-year-old former civil rights activist, who appeared on the Atlanta auditions, shot to stardom with his catchy ‘Idol’ song, ‘Pants on the Ground.’

But a Michigan rap duo called The Green Brothers are accusing Platt of song plagiarism, claiming that their 1996 song ‘Pockets on the Floor’ is too close for comfort to Platt’s rendition.

The musicians believe both songs have “the same intent, idea and in part the same message,” and they say they just want the public to hear their version too, according to TMZ.

“General” Larry Platt has used his time in the spotlight to snag a performance on ‘The View’ and to meet with the Minnesota Vikings, after quarterback Brett Favre sang the song backstage after his team beat the Cowboys.

How similar are the songs?
