The recent infighting between Derek and the Chief will look like pretty small potatoes when ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ journeys to the front line of no less than the Iraq War.

Sources tell me exclusively that in a March/April episode of the ABC drama, viewers – via a series of flashbacks – will gain long overdue insight into what exactly Owen Hunt and Teddy Altman dealt with as Army doctors.

This news confirms that which Kevin McKidd said to me during a recent interview. “I think there are going to be more revelations from Owen’s past,” he hinted.

The Big Tease: Scoop on ‘Grey’s’ and More

Since returning from his second tour in Iraq, Owen has suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder. During one particularly hairy moment, he strangled bedmate Cristina.

Through therapy, Dr. Hunt has begun to address the ghosts from his military past. But perhaps Teddy’s presence in Seattle will rattle those skeletons anew?

At least five other military types are being guest-cast for the sure-to-be-intense outing, says Spoiler TV.
