While other stars are getting hot and heavy on Valentine’s Day, what with their bikini jaunts to St. Barts and their romantic dinners at Nobu, Kelly Ripa and her husband Mark Consuelos are taking it easy this year – and keeping the special day kid-friendly.

The couple’s going out to dinner – with their kids and Ripa’s parents.

“It’s going to be hot,” the bubbly ‘Live With Regis & Kelly‘ host joked to PopEater. “It’s going to be a group Valentine’s Day.”

“We let them pick the restaurant, and we take them out to dinner,” she revealed. “We get chewy, decadent desserts. And this year we’ll be with my parents, so we’re taking them out to dinner.”

Consuelo and Ripa decided on their non-traditional plans after realizing that their kids would one day soon fly the coop. “We’ve had enough of them on our own. The kids grow up so fast, we’ll have our own one day,” said the mom of three. “One day when they go off to college it will be the two of us saying, ‘Let’s have a grown up Valentine’s.'”

“But right now, let’s face reality, no one is getting lucky on Valentine’s Day. Maybe my parents. I don’t want to know.”

The couple, who eloped in 1996 after meeting on ‘All My Children’, have three kids – Michael Joseph, 13, Lola Grace, 9, and Joaquin Antonio, 7.
