Ted and Barney get Carrie’d away on the next ‘How I Met Your Mother‘ (Mondays at 8/7c) when ‘American Idol‘ Carrie Underwood guest stars as Tiffany, a pharmaceutical sales rep who proves to be a real pill for Mr. Mosby.
“I’m not really a nice girl,” Underwood shares of her character. “I’m kind of a jerk!”
Indeed, Tiffany exemplifies the episode’s theme: People who keep members of the opposite sex (in this case, Ted) “on the hook” as a possible fallback plan if things don’t work out with their current sweetheart.

Tiffany’s profession also sets Barney off on one of his famous tangents, as he details how, since the dawn of man, certain jobs have been the exclusive domain of attractive females. In each vignette, Underwood plays the “hot girl profession of the day.”
