It was a banner evening for Jimmy Fallon who followed Leno at 12:35 and celebrated his one-year anniversary as host of ‘Late Night.’ The show featured ‘Twilight‘ heartthrob Robert Pattinson, ‘30 Rock’s Judah Friedlander and super chef Mario Batali.”
“’It’s our one-year anniversary. When I started Leno was still hosting the ‘Tonight Show,’” Fallon cracked in his opening monologue. “We’re NBC’s longest running late night comedy show.”
Pattinson kicked off his the show by appearing in Fallon’s long-running parody series “Robert is Bothered,” in which the SNL vet portrays a pale, brooding Pattinson droning on about all things that bother him like the “month of March, Shark Week and Snickers” in the world’s worst British accent while sitting in a tree. Pattinson finally admitted that he is indeed “bothered.”
Pattinson also admitted that watching the skit made him realize why he is not a comedian and that he’s been having trouble explaining what his latest movie ‘Remember Me’ is about. “It’s about two people falling in love,” he ultimately revealed.
’30 Rock’s’ Friedlander, wearing a signature trucker hat that read “Campeon Del Mundo,” also made an appearance on the show along with foodie Batali who whipped up a delicious-looking lobster fettucine dish.
The show concluded with Batali, Friedlander and Fallon toasting the show’s one- year anniversary by hoisting glasses of white wine in the air.
Meanwhile on the West Coast Jimmy Kimmel kicked off his show with a back stage video of teen singing sensation Justin Bieber’s meeting with super fan Cody. The three year-old tot behind the infamous “crying for Justin Bieber” Youtube video. Cody embraced Beiber and stated, “I should marry Justin.”
A slimmed down Kate Gosselin also stopped by Kimmel’s show. The reality star steered clear of questions about ex-husband Jon, instead opting to discuss her upcoming appearance on ‘Dancing With The Stars.’
“I’m going to win,” Gosselin gushed. “But I think my biggest competition is going to be Pamela Anderson.”
New ‘Bachelorette’ Ali Fetodowsky followed Gosselin on Kimmel where she admitted that she is looking forward to “finding my dream guy,” and intimated she hopes he puts a ring on it when the reality show kicks off on ABC May 24.
Josh Turner closed out the show by performing “Why Don’t We Just Dance “ from his new CD “Haywire.”’
