The star of the CBS drama ‘The Good Wife‘ may or may not take a page from her on-screen hubby’s philandering ways.
While on the red carpet Monday night in Los Angeles promoting her new film ‘City Island,’ Margulies hinted at the onset of an office romance in [Tuesday’s] episode. “It’s going to be the beginning of this very juicy climb. We’re going to take in her personal life.”
The show’s storyline has evolved from wondering whether or not Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) will take back her cheating spouse (Chris Noth) to simmering with the escalating romantic tension between Marguiles and her boss Will Gardner (Josh Charles).
Things are heating up between Margulies and Gardner, when the pair get involved in a fight for a couple whose unborn child needs surgery not covered by their health insurance.
“There’s a sort of rawness to Will that we see in the episode because what happens in the case really shakes him to his core,” Charles told TVGuide.com. “He’s invested himself in work and that’s where the womanizing comes in and that’s where the lack of real relationships comes in. He doesn’t have that family that maybe, on some level, he might want.”
As the first season of the legal drama nears its end, Margulies’ hyper-ambitious rival Cary Agos, played by ‘Gilmore‘ guy Matt Czuchry, resorts to more scheming. “The audience is going to be seeing another side of Cary,” Czuchry recently told Zap2It. “It’s a crucial part of the end of the season.”
Preston, best known as the out-to-lunch waitress Arlene on the HBO vampire series, will portray Elsbeth Mann, a member of Peter’s legal team. She’s also known in real life as Mrs. Michael Emerson, aka the awesome actor who plays Ben on the equally awesome ‘Lost.’
For those craving ‘True Blood,’ HBO announced the Season 3 premiere date will be Sunday, June 13th.
‘The Good Wife’ airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. on CBS.
