Bad news for fans of ‘Scrubs.’ The show has been diagnosed as terminal.

First the hipster series about those working at teaching hospital Sacred Hearts ended a long and lauded run on NBC. Then rival network ABC picked up the show and revamped this season with new characters and storylines.

“Many of you have asked, so here it is,” Braff wrote on his Facebook page, “it appears that ‘New Scrubs’, ‘Scrubs 2.0′, ‘Scrubs with new kids’, ‘Scrubbier’, ‘Scrubs without JD’ is no more. It was worth a try, but alas… it didn’t work. zb”

‘Scrubs’ executive producer Bill Lawrence told that while Scrubs “hasn’t been canceled, we’re all just assuming it’s over.”

ABC had no comment.
