Get ready for the next chapter in Sharpay Evans life. Ashley Tisdale has signed on with the Disney Channel to reprise her role as the domineering diva from ‘High School Musical,’ in ‘Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure.’
In the made-for-TV movie, the East High grad heads to New York City in search of fame on Broadway’s Great White Way. While searching for success, Sharpay will butt heads with the recent winner of ‘So You Think You’re America’s Most Talented Performing Idol’ and befriend a student film-maker named Callem.
Tisdale, 24, will exec-produce the movie, slated for a Disney Channel premiere in 2011.
There is no word on whether or not Lucas Grabeel, who played her twin brother Ryan in ‘HSM,’ will return for the project. It appears that Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens and Corbin Bleu have ditched their ‘High School Musical’ alter-egos, but you never know.
In a statement Disney said, “In Sharpay, Ashley Tisdale brought to life one of the most memorable comedic characters we’ve seen in years. This movie captures the absolutely perfect next chapter in her life.”
Tizzie has been keeping herself busy. The bubbly actress started her own production company, ‘Blonde Productions,’ and appeared in the comedy ‘They Came from Outer Space,’ as well as a pilot for The CW series ‘Hellcats.’
