As anticipation builds to a gleektastic pitch for the April 13th mid-season return of Fox’s first-year ‘Glee,’ we gathered the show’s stars to chat about their favorite musical performances thus far. The fourth installment in the series of interviews features Cory Monteith as Finn Hudson, McKinley High’s star quarterback-turned-glee club convert.

‘Modern Family,’ ‘Glee’ Among Peabody Winners

Cory Monteith: Finn Hudson

Favorite Performance: “Somebody to Love”

Episode: The Rhodes Not Taken

Why Somebody to Love: There’s a real journey in that song. When ‘Glee’ succeeds in music, it succeeds in creating a character out of the music. I think that song is where we’ve been most successful in doing that.

Behind The Scenes: The way the production works is that we record all the songs ahead of time. On the day when we’re shooting it, we’re actually singing though, because it looks better.

Most Emotional Moment: Hearing Amber [Riley] sing ‘Bust Your Windows.’ There’s something about it.  Her voice is so beautiful on that song. Her talent is overwhelming. It’s not sad, but you get that, like, shiver.

Least Favorite Routine: Anything with hard dancing. I have two left feet. I have to try really really hard to be as good as Finn, if that makes sense. I am really crappy. Finn is a better dancer than I am. ‘Push It’ was one of my favorites and least favorites at the same time, because it was so hard to actually put that dance number together. At the same time, it was rewarding.
