Kate Gosselin, listen up. Brooke Burke, ‘Dancing with the Stars‘ new co-host and the show’s seventh season winner, has some solid advice for you…and a few kind words.
“I am really rooting for her to pull it together,” Burke told Fancast after Tuesday’s elimination show, which sent Buzz Aldrin and Ashly Costa packing. When asked how the reality TV mom is making it through each week given her poor performances, poor scores, and poor comments from the judges, Burke said, “Maybe people want to see the diamond in the rough.”
Pointing to Gosselin’s clear case of the nerves, Burke says the best thing the star could do next week is to loosen up. “My advice to her is to remember to have fun and don’t take it so seriously,” she suggested. “If you have fun, then you are more fun to watch.”
Burke was pretty surprised at Tuesday’s results, which put Jake Pavelka and Chelsie Hightower at the bottom of the pack. “I was actually shocked to see Jake and Chelsie in the bottom two,” she told us. “I think that people don’t realize they have to take part in the show. Clearly, they did great and have a good fanbase. So, I don’t know.”
Replacing Samantha Harris as co-host this season, Burke she’s having a blast at her new gig. “I wish they would film the dress rehearsals because we have so much fun and everyone just gets crazy,” she said. “We ask funny pretend questions, like really obnoxious questions of everybody that I can’t repeat here. Everyone has a great sense of humor about the show so we just make up funny stuff during rehearsals.”
Viewers got to see some of the silliness on Tuesday’s episode, especially the goofy side of ESPN reporter Erin Andrews. But, Burke says she’s not the only clown in the bunch. “Erin is really goofy, but so is Nicole [Scherzinger] and Derek [Hough] are goofy. Tom [Bergeron] is really goofy. He’s always funny. He’s always on.”
