The reality show will publicize her new network, the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), which launches January 11, 2011.

“I believe in this network so much that I have agreed to do something crazy,” Winfrey said. “I, Oprah Winfrey, am doing a reality show.”

Winfrey spoke Thursday via satellite from Chicago to the Discovery Communication upfronts in Los Angeles. The afternoon affair took place at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills.

The show is called ‘Behind the Scenes: The Oprah Show Final Season.’

Oprah Won’t Give Mom Her Number?

There were some crazy moments on display, but Oprah blowing away bubbles from the bath probably got the biggest reaction from the crowd. There were interesting moments of a dead-tired Oprah in the morning on her way to work talking about her morning routine. Oprah is shown with her male make-up crew talking about “how we all get our periods together.”

Oprah said her staff, who will be featured on the show, are “my family.” “You’re going to see what it’s really like to work for me,” said Oprah.

Moments later onscreen, an elevator door ominously closed on her and an employee. Why the drama? The employee had just admitted to having failed to pass on “significant information” to the talk-show queen. Clearly they are not going away to hug it out.
