HBO and series creator/star Larry David have agreed to deliver an eighth, 10-episode season of ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm,’ to debut in 2011.

“After much soul searching – and by the way, it was nowhere to be found – I have decided to do another season of ‘Curb,” David said in announcing the news. “I look forward to the end of shooting, when I can once again resume the hunt for my elusive soul. I know it’s here somewhere or perhaps in the rugged mountainous regions of Pakistan.”

‘Curb’ is coming off a strong Season 7 which focused in large part on a semi-fictional reunion of the cast of “Seinfeld,’ the popular NBC series David cocreated.

On the heels of that well-received storyline arc, “You have to ask, ‘How does he ever top this?’ ” says HBO president Michael Lombardo. “But [Larry] always finds a way. We can’t wait to see what he does in Season 8.”

With 70 episodes under its belt to date, ‘Curb’ is HBO’s longest-running scripted comedy or drama series.
