Kiefer Sutherland is back home again in New York after a wild week in London.  The ‘24‘ star is being watched by friends, family and TV show bosses hoping he will be keeping his partying ways to a minimum this summer.  When this season’s filming of the ’24’ finale wrapped early in the month, Kiefer’s party animal ways led him to be escorted out of London bar, shirtless, on April 15th, according to People.

Fancast spotted the 43-year-old relaxing this weekend in NYC with a group of buddies downtown.  The foursome chose Tortilla Flats for their Friday night fun, but Kiefer was careful not to down the restaurant’s famous margaritas.  Kiefer played it cool, putting his name in for the long wait and patiently sitting on the curb chatting with his guy friends.   The TV and film star waited nearly an hour before a table was available and while his friends enjoyed drinks, Kiefer stuck to non-alcoholic beverages all night.

One pal tells us, “Kiefer is taking it easy.  He’s laying off the alcohol and he is very aware of his public image.  He doesn’t want to be known as a mess – he’s keeping his nose clean.  Kiefer’s friends know him as an unassuming guy and very friendly.  ’24’ ending this year is a big deal and it does affect him.  He is already missing the great cast and crew.”

Kiefer’s ’24’ bosses would love it if he could stay out of trouble through the show’s series finale, May 24th.  “There’s some pressure from the top for him to behave.  The movie rests on his shoulders and there is a desire to roll that out quickly following the finale.  Kiefer has a lot of responsibilities and it is in his best interest to keep the partying to a minimum and focus on work.”
