The shenanigans, mayhem, drama and occasional brutal death on Wisteria Lane could come to a close in May 2012.
If ABC does pick up ‘Housewives’ for two final cycles, the attention will thenturn the status of its four leading ladies, all of whom only are contracted through Season 7. Though Teri Hatcher, Marcia Cross, Felicity Huffman and Eva Longoria Parker previously have been approached by ABC about extending their stays, Deadline says there has been little movement on that front.
Originally, ‘Housewives’ creator Marc Cherry announced in July 2008 that the show would wrap after seven seasons, saying, “We’re going to get out while people still like us.” But months later, Cherry hinted at an on-set party that he had worked out a nine-year plan, as I exclusively reported at the time for TVGuide.com.
What do you think, Fancast fans? Does ‘Housewives’ have two more seasons’ worth of stories to tell? Mind you, as teased in my Big Tease column, the May 16 season finale will drop quite the bombshell on viewers, one concerning a certain something (someone?) that doesn’t belong to a certain Wisteria Lane resident.
