‘Celebrity Apprentice’: Bret Michaels Rocks It, Summer Sanders Blows It

Summer Sanders on The Celebrity Apprentice (NBC)

Unfortunately, our resident ‘Celebrity Apprentice‘ blogger Bret Michaels is still recovering from his emergency appendectomy and brain hemorrhage and won’t be able to deliver his hilarious and passionate blogs on our favorite Sunday night show.

So, we’ll be filling in for Bret in the meantime, as everyone at Fancast.com wishes him speedy recovery. Our prayers are with you!

And so were NBC’s as Donald Trump closed last night’s episode with these kind words: “This show is dedicated to Bret Michaels with our thoughts and prayers for a full recovery.”

But, as they say, “the show must go on.” And in this case, the blog must go on too.

Let’s start with what a gentleman Curtis Stone is. When Trump said he was “a little bit disappointed” that he didn’t fight back at the verbal beating from Sharon Osbourne and Maria Kanellis, he said, “I speak really respectfully to women, Mr. Trump. I don’t think that it was appropriate that I start screaming across the table at them.”

Classy, Curtis. Very classy.

Read on for the bloody details on the ladies’ surprise attack, why Summer Sanders was sent packing, and just what was so funny to Bret and Sharon…

Bret Michaels On Drinking & Diabetes: ‘This Was A Wake Up Call’

The Task
Clockwork Home Services, parent company to Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, Mister Sparky, and One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning tasked the two teams with creating three radio commercials, one for each brand. Bret Michaels was chosen as project manager (his second time) for RockSolid, which includes Sharon Osbourne and Maria Kenellis, and Summer Sanders for Tenacity, which includes Holly Robinson Peete, Cyndi Lauper, and Curtis Stone.

The Drama
Once again, it was Cyndi’s weirdness that kept us into the show for two hours. Summer had to lay down the law with the pop star, telling her early on to focus and listen. Un-com-fort-able! “Let’s face it, they can be a little bit bitchy,” Curtis said about Holly and Summer’s attitude toward Cyndi. (True dat!)

The Funny
Bret and Sharon had a field day with the obvious plumbing jokes — from cracking up about cracks and waxing poetic about the cleaning of pipes. How could you not laugh at Bret and Sharon “tooting” around? But, the funniest moment goes to the serious look on the executives’ faces as they explained how it’s just not cool to make plumbers “the butt of jokes.” Team RockSolid decided to crack the jokes anyway with Bret agreeing to take the fall if needed. “Listen, I’ve possessed some plumber’s crack a few times in my life and I know how hurtful it is when people made fun of me so I try never make fun of plumber’s crack. It’s a serious matter,” he joked, ever so seriously.

The Boardroom
Sharon and Maria showered their project manager Bret with lots of love, calling him “fantastic” and “wonderful.” Score a second win for the rocker. Yay! Ivanka Trump, though, gave him crap for cracking the plumber’s crack joke when explicitly told not to. Still, his team won for nailing the commercials. The executives thought Tenacity’s spots “lacked originality,” though they liked hearing Cyndi sing. $40,000 went to Bret’s charity, American Diabetes Foundation. But, it was the Curtis bashing that shocked us the most. “Oh Curtis. God, Yes,” said Sharon when Donald asked her who should be fired. “You don’t like Curtis,” said Donald. “Not a lot,” she replied. “He’s very smug…He’s just too smug for me.” “I do agree with Sharon on this instance. I don’t know what it is. I look at him and I’m like, I want to punch you for some reason. I don’t know why,” Maria chimed in. Meow, ladies! Meow!

The Firing
When a team loses and there isn’t a clear weak link, it’s the project manager who must go and tonight that was Summer. No shocker there. Summer, who was brought into the boardroom with Curtis and Cyndi, said that Cyndi should be saved and Donald dismissed her immediately, leaving Curtis to fight it out with Summer. “You’re a great player. You really are a great player. But, you are the project manager and you haven’t given a very strong argument for you to stay. Summer, you’re fired,” said the Donald. “It sucks to be fired,” she said in parting.

Next Week
Curtis and Bret switch teams, forcing Curtis to work hand-in-hand with his two new enemies, Sharon and Maria. The task is to paint and furnish an apartment. The teasers look good — “Don’t yell at people,” Bret seems to say to Cyndi. “I thought you weren’t going to be lying in here Cyndi,” said Holly to a gasping Cyndi. Let the drama continue…
