Comcast On Demand today premieres a pair of big movies that couldn’t be more different. There’s Rob Marshall’s challenging musical Nine, for which Penelope Cruz was nominated for an Oscar, and there’s also a light romantic comedy from Amy Adams entitled Leap Year. Take a closer look at these films below and decide which one you want to dial up and check out.
Chicago director Rob Marshall’s musical extravaganza stars Daniel Day-Lewis as a struggling filmmaker trying to juggle the many women in his life, including Marion Cotillard, Academy Award nominee Penelope Cruz, Nicole Kidman, Kate Hudson and Sophia Loren.
Amy Adams is a busy, anal-retentive rich woman who tires of waiting for her boyfriend (Adam Scott) to propose, so she decides to surprise him in Ireland with a proposal based on an old Irish tradition of women popping the question on February 29. However, everything goes wrong and she winds up having to travel across Ireland with the help of a poor local (Matthew Goode), and despite hating each other at first blush, the last blush will turn out to be something different entirely.
