‘Moonlight‘ is risen again. Sort of.
The CW will air reruns of the short-lived CBS series on Thursday nights at 9/8c, starting June 3. There, it will lead out of encore broadcasts of the netlet’s own blood-lusting series, ‘The Vampire Diairies.’
This marks the second time an outlet has rebroadcast episodes of the Alex O’Loughlin starrer. Syfy had the honors the first time around.
With Mick and his pals sinking their teeth into the 9 o’clock slot, ‘Supernatural‘ fans can summertime repeats on Fridays at 9, after ‘Smallville.’
One theory is that The CW may be taking a cursory look at moving ‘Supernatural’ to the Friday-at-9 slot permanently, starting in the fall when its sixth season premieres.
In turn, one of The CW’s pilots – the supernatural-tinged ‘Changelings,’ for example – would land in the plum apres-‘Diaries’ slot.
‘Moonlight’s O’Loughlin went on to star in the short-lived CBS medical drama ‘Three Rivers,’ and can be seen on the big screen right now in J.Lo’s ‘The Back-Up Plan.’
O’Loughlin has the lead role of Steve Garrett in CBS’ ‘Hawaii Five-O’ reboot being considered for the 2010-11 season.
‘Moonlight’ also stars Jason Dohring (‘Veronica Mars’), Sophia Myles and Shannyn Sossamon.
