The buzz is all Betty!, Betty!, Betty! this Monday, as Betty White was belle of the ball Saturday night, earning rave reviews as host of ‘Saturday Night Live.’
If you can’t get enough of the 88-year-old riot–who even managed to outshine the reunion of ‘SNL’s fave female funny ladies– you’re in luck, because we’ve got Bonus Betty bits right here. Apparently there were additional segments from the night’s show that were cut–and NBC has released those un-aired skits.
One of them featured the return of a familiar frowny face: Rachel Dratch as Debbie Downer, who brings a sexy lingerie party to a grinding halt.
Another un-aired segment was ‘Bronx Beat’ featuring ‘SNL’ alums Amy Poehler and Maya Rudolph as talk show hosts from the Bronx who chat it up with White as their Mother’s Day guest. It’s no ‘Coffee Talk,’ but it’s fun nonetheless.
The ‘Golden Girl’ brought in ‘SNL’s highest ratings in 18 months. Still sharp and even edgy, White landed the hosting gig after a viral Internet campaign raged on her behalf.
In her opening monologue, an adorable Betty showed her gratitude for her Facebook following–while proving she’s cooler than Facebook at the same time.
“I really have to thank Facebook,” Betty said. “I didn’t know what Facebook was, and now that I do know what it is… it sounds like a huge waste of time. I would never think that people on it are losers, but that’s only because I’m polite,” Betty joked. “At my age, if I want to connect with old friends, I need a Ouija board.”
