Tuesday, Bravo confirmed that fashion icon Iman will replace former mirthless co-host Kelly Rowland on season two of ‘The Fashion Show.’ In light of this exciting news, here are three reasons why Iman’s addition might actually make the ramshackle ‘Project Runway‘ successor worthy of tune-in this season:
1) Unlike Rowland, Iman is a fashion industry pro. She knows the material – literally and figuratively. Bringing her experience as a supermodel and host of Canada’s ‘Project Runway’ to the judges panel, imagine how refreshing it will be to hear her expert analysis on, say, an issue with garment construction, instead of Kelly’s vacant “I don’t know. What do you think, Isaac?”
2) Iman and Mizrahi have been friends for over a decade. This means they have a little something called chemistry, which was about as absent last season as Merlin’s sanity.
3) Because with Iman on board, the chances of a David Bowie challenge – and appearance! – increases tenfold. And could there be anything better than watching a bunch of hapless designers struggle – and hopefully succeed – in creating a runway look fit for Ziggy Stardust?
Here’s what Iman has to say about the news (via press release): “I am so excited to be joining the Bravo team and to be working again with Isaac Mizrahi, my close friend of many, many years. I am also looking forward to all of the behind-the-scenes excitement and drama that is generated through the creative process of these undiscovered fashion designers. This will certainly be a show any follower of fashion will want to see.”
What do you think? Will you tune-in to see Iman?
