It’s no secret that Donald Trump shows favoritism on ‘The Celebrity Apprentice.’
Being a good friend of Joan Rivers, he let the comedian get away with a Hitler comment toward Annie Duke last season. And, this season, he certainly had a soft spot for Sharon Osbourne, who was gone most of the time due to illness and yet didn’t get let go.
Even Summer Sanders, who was fired last week spoke out on the favoritism issues. When asked, “Do you think there’s some favoritism that happens on the show with Donald Trump?” she said, “I do. I’ll come out and say it. Like my background is if you’re not there for your race, I’m sorry, you don’t make the Olympic team. There are no re-dos. So I understand that people get sick and all of that. And I had sympathy for [Sharon Osbourne]; she was very, very sick.”
We caught up with Maria Kanellis, one of the three firees from Sunday night’s show, this morning. Even though Trump clearly has as soft spot for Bret Michaels, the ousted WWE diva doesn’t think the rocker has an advantage come finale time.
When asked if Bret’s very public health ordeal might give him advantage in the final boardroom next week, Maria said, “No. It’s unfortunate what happened with him and we’re so happy he’s getting better, but at the same time Trump is pretty much a guy that he sees what’s in the task and that’s it. He doesn’t see celebrity…He sees what you do on task.”
Uh, Maria, we couldn’t agree with you less.
P.S. What’s next for Maria? She is hoping to launch a new reality show documenting the trials and tribulations of getting her rock band off the ground. She said she’s working on her own production company right now.
