'One Tree Hill's James Lafferty and 'Life Unexpected's Shri Appleby (The CW)

The CW has renewed both ‘One Tree Hill‘ and ‘Life Unexpected,’ the network announced on Tuesday.

Previously, the CW had ordered new seasons of five other scripted series: ‘Gossip Girl,’ ’90210,’ ‘The Vampire Diaries,’ ‘Supernatural’ and ‘Smallville.’

Also scoring a spot on the network’s 2010-11 schedule, which is to be revealed on full on Thursday, are the new dramas ‘Nikita‘ and ‘Hellcats.’

A reboot of sort of the ‘La Femme Nikita’ movie and USA Network series, ‘Nikita’ stars international action-film star Maggie Q (‘Mission Impossible 3′) as a spy for a covert U.S. government agency. Lyndsy Fonseca (‘Desperate Housewives’), Shane West (‘ER’), Melinda Clarke (‘The O.C’) and Xander Berkeley (’24′) also star.

Who Should Play TV’s New ‘La Femme Nikita’?

‘Hellcats’ revolves around the world of competitive college cheerleading, and counts ‘Smallville’ star/producer Tom Welling among its executive producers. The cast includes Aly Michalka (‘Bandslam’), Ashley Tisdale (‘High School Musical’), Sharon Leal (‘Dreamgirls’) and Gail O’Grady (‘American Dreams’).
