In a nutshell, TBS is claiming dibs on Jordana Spiro.
When the in-demand ‘My Boys‘ star landed a role on the new NBC anthology series ‘Love Bites,’ set to air Thursdays at 10 this fall, fans of her TBS series feared they’d be bidding adieu to unlucky-in-love sportswriter PJ Franklin.
Interestingly – and only perhaps related – Spiro was conspicuously absent from NBC’s Monday upfront event. Instead, Becki Newton (‘Ugly Betty’) and just-promoted series regular Greg Grunberg (‘Heroes’) represented ‘Love Bites,’ while the clip screened for attendees was Grunberg-centric.
But a TBS rep confirms for Fancast that ‘My Boys’ already has a fourth season in the can, to premiere July 25. And if the comedy’s ratings merit a Season 5, Spiro will need to return in kind.
“Jordana Spiro has an exclusive contract with TBS and will return for a fifth season, should we choose to renew the series,” says a statement from the network.
Similarly, ‘My Boys’ Kyle Howard (aka Bobby) can be seen on another new NBC comedy, ‘Perfect Couples,’ premiering midseason.
