CNN is apologizing for its bad rap …

The cable news channel accidentally played an excerpt from rapper Coolio’s song ‘Fantastic Voyage’ that included the ‘N-word’ in the lyrics, the Huffington Post notes. The clip of the song was featured, oddly, during a segment about a 103-year-old woman who still drives.

CNN anchor Kyra Phillips apologized Wednesday on behalf of the network, shortly after it aired:

“We aired some music just a few minutes ago, and, obviously for those of you that heard it, it was the wrong music that aired,” Phillips said. “We apologize for that. It was a terrible mistake. And we’re working very hard to make up for it.”

The lyrics in question are below:

“Ain’t no bloodin’, Ain’t no crippin’ / Ain’t no punk-a** n***a’s set trippin’ / everybody’s got a stack and it ain’t no crack / and it really don’t matter…”

The story was first reported on and you can watch the video clip there.
