“We filmed it, it was beautiful, [and] it was wonderful. Just to be on the safe side, they chose to blur certain things out to not get in trouble,” Berman tells Fancast of having her breasts pixilated on May 5’s love scene with her character, Lulu, and Dante, played by Dominic Zamprogna. “Other than that, I think the whole montage itself was more important than the pixilation.”
Berman, 26, says, “It’s not the first time that’s happened. I don’t think it’s that big of a deal. I don’t think we did it with the intention of, ‘Oh, we can’t wait. We’re going to blur some stuff out to make it look [racy].'”
Lulu and Dante have a fan following, a fan Twitter page, and nickname: Lante.
Onscreen passion is getting easier for Berman, she says – the high profile soap ‘General Hospital’ has been her training ground.
“Love scenes are part of the job. I think the first couple of times that you do it, it is a little uncomfortable, when you’re unfamiliar,” Berman says. “My first love scene was on ‘General Hospital.’ I had no prior experience. Obviously the first few times are going to be a little interesting, especially when you have different directors for different things. It means the energy and the tone is going to be completely different than what you did before. At this point, it’s definitely not something I’m shy about. I like that I’m comfortable with it now. It’s a soap opera. You have to be comfortable with it at a certain point.”
‘General Hospital’ led daytime soaps with 18 Daytime Emmy nominations this year.
Berman hints of Lulu’s future with Dante, “Their relationship is going to be tested with the character of Brooke Lynn (Adrianne Leon), who is someone from his past. I think we will be seeing a lot of potential drama. A nice triangle set up.”
