Curb Your Enthusiasm

Art continues to imitate life to squirm-inducing effect in the seventh season of the hilarious HBO comedy ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm.’ Now divorced, Larry lets agent Jeff talk him into a Seinfeld reunion. He convinces the old gang to participate–Jerry, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jason Alexander, and Michael Richards–but mostly he hopes to win back Cheryl, who longs to play George’s ex-wife. Seinfeld fans are in for a treat when George’s mother, Mrs. Costanza (Estelle Harris), and neighbor Newman (Wayne Knight) drop by for rehearsals. In the show’s boldest move, Richards’s taped tirade at a comedy club in 2006, which set the Internet on fire, plays into the season’s story arc. Buy the Season 7 DVD right here.

Shutter Island

Starring three-time Academy Award nominee Leonardo DiCaprio, ‘Shutter Island‘ features an outstanding ensemble cast including Mark Ruffalo, Oscar winner Sir Ben Kingsley, Max von Sydow, Michelle Williams and Emily Mortimer. Based on the best-selling novel by celebrated writer Dennis Lehane, ‘Shutter Island’ tells the story of two U.S. marshals investigating the mysterious disappearance of an inmate from a hospital for the criminally insane. But as their investigation proceeds, they uncover an intricate web of deception where nothing may be as it seems. Filled with nail-biting suspense and unexpected plot twists, ‘Shutter Island’ is a must-see thriller that will keep you guessing to the very end. Buy the DVD right here.

Family Matters

One of the most memorable and heartwarming comedies to emerge from the 1990s, ‘Family Matters‘ focuses on the lives of the Winslows, a multi-generational, middle-class suburban Chicago family. The show takes a closer look at the at-home adventures of Harriette Winslow, the sarcastic elevator operator who was initially featured on the enormously successful ‘Perfect Strangers’. During the first season, the Winslows are introduced to the show’s breakout star, geeky next door neighbor, Steve Urkel (Jaleel White). Urkel, the ultimate nerd, develops a big crush on the Winslow’s daughter Laura. He’s known for his oversized spectacles, high-water pants, suspenders and high-pitched, screechy voice. Greenskeeper Carl Spackler is about to start World War III – against a gopher in the 30th anniversary DVD release of the classic ‘Caddyshack.’ Pompous Judge Smalls plays to win but his nubile niece Lacey Underall wants to score her own way. Playboy Ty Webb shoots perfect golf by becoming the ball. And country club loudmouth Al Czervik just doubled a $20,000 bet on a 10-foot putt. Insanity? No. Caddyshack. Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield, Bill Murray and Ted Knight tee off for a side-splitting round of fairway foolishness that does for golf what National Lampoon’s Animal House did for fraternities and Police Academy did for law enforcement. With Harold Ramis directing, the virtuoso skills of all four blend into a riotous hole-in-one for comedy fans. The standard definition DVD has been updated with new 5.1 audio and contains special features. Buy the DVD right here.

Tales Of The Cold Monkey

Created by Don Bellisario and starring Stephen Collins, Caitlin O’Heaney, Roddy McDowall, and Jeff Mackay, ‘Tales of the Gold Monkey‘ aired on ABC in early 80’s and became a popular hit following the success of the Indiana Jones films. Set in 1938, this adventure series captures the ambience and character of a mysterious romantic era and chronicles a young American adventurer Jake Cutter (Stephen Collins) and his ragtag group of friends as they become involved involved in death-defying hi-jinx, transporting people-on-the-run in a well-worn Grumman Goose seaplane.
