Single motherhood is paying off for Kate Gosselin in at least one, quantifiable respect: Her first two ‘Kate Plus Eight‘ specials for TLC delivered decent ratings on Sunday night, and certainly were an improvement over the numbers she was pulling with husband Jon at her side.
Opposite stiff-ish competition from the Lakers-Celtics game, the Stanley Cup finals and the MTV Jersey Shore Movie Awards, ‘Kate Plus Eight’ averaged 3.2 million total viewers across its first two hour-long outings, EW.com reports.
For TLC, that represents triple-digit gains over its typical 2Q delivery in the time slot, and double-digit gains versus November 2009 episodes of ‘Jon and Kate Plus 8.’
The next ‘Kate Plus 8’ special is set to grace our screens on July 11.
