Holly Madison: ‘It’s Hard to Find a Husband’

With Hugh Hefner long behind her, Criss Angel probably just a bad nightmare, and, Good Charlotte’s Benji Madden in the “Just Friends” zone, ex ‘Girls Next Door‘ model Holly Madison is looking for the real deal.

“I’m not dating anyone. I’m single,” she told Fancast. “My eyes are open, but I don’t have any marriage candidates just yet.”

So what does it take to put a ring on that? “I don’t date guys that I have a feeling are only interested in arm candy or guys who want to get famous,” says Holly, who is still under contract with the Vegas-based burlesque show ‘Peepshow’ for a year. So maybe an entertainer? “Maybe,” she blushes. “It’s case by case.”

When asked if it’s hard finding a suitable suitor in Sin City, she said, “I think it’s hard to find a husband anywhere. When you live in L.A. everybody complains and whines about how hard it is to meet a guy in L.A. You live in Vegas, and everyone complains and whines about that, too. Whatever city, nobody likes the dating pool.”

She does admit to having babies on the brain too and, surprisingly, thinks that Las Vegas would be a much better place to raise a family than Los Angeles.

“I would much rather raise a family in Las Vegas than in L.A. First of all, when you live in Vegas, it’s very much like a small town with a really strong sense of community. And, Vegas is really strict. You can’t get into a club if you’re underage. You can’t drink or gamble if you’re underage. In L.A., there’s too much money, too much privilege. Anybody can get into any club as long as they’re good looking at any age. I don’t like it,” she says.

“And paparazzi is everywhere in L.A.,” she continues. “There are none in Vegas. They come to events, but if you ever see a celebrity with paparazzi in Vegas, like waiting at lobby of hotel, it’s because they called them themselves. There are no random loitering paparazzi in Las Vegas. It’s 110% better to raise a family here than L.A.”

We’ll get a glimpse at Holly’s dating life on her new reality show, ‘Holly’s World,’ premiering this Sunday, June 13 at 10:30 pm on E!. The 8-episode series will also feature pals Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett (who teaches her how to throw out a first ball) and Bridget Marquardt (which whom she roadtrips from L.A. to Vegas for her new book), as well as her ‘Peepshow’ co-star Josh Strickland, and guests such as Too $hort, Robin Leach and Carrot Top.

“There’s all kinds of drama on the show,” she says. “It’s just us trying to achieve our goals and get things done, but a lot of drama. Fun stuff. I cry, oh yeah, absolutely. There are some moments where I lose it a little bit because things just get too busy some times.”

“You’re going to see a deeper side to Holly, a side people haven’t seen,” said co-star Josh Strickland. “She shows her more emotional side that you didn’t get to see on ‘Girls Next Door.'”

When ‘Holly’s World’ is done, it probably won’t be more reality TV for this future wife and mother. “I mostly just want to have a family and get involved in city politics and be a Sunday school teacher and stuff like that,” she said.

Wait… did she just say city politics?

“Yes. In Vegas. My favorite idea is to fix the way they do construction [in Las Vegas] because sometimes they leave a construction site up too long when they’re doing road work. They don’t finish it fast enough and it causes a lot of traffic problems. I need to learn first.”

So, Holly Madison for mayor?
