The NFL is in a new zone.

The league will partner with Nickelodeon for the animated series ‘Rush Zone: Guardians of the Core‘ to air on Nicktoons.

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning and New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton are among the NFL stars lending their voices to the series. The 22 episodes of cartoon shorts, each two to five minutes in length, will air each week during the NFL season.

The show tackles the adventures of a 10-year-old boy with superpowers “who was just an ordinary kid until learning that all 32 NFL stadiums also serve as secret strongholds of an otherworldly benevolent life force that he has been chosen to guard.”

“This new series combines fantasy, sports, game play, team work, competition and the age old theme of good vs. evil, under one compelling new narrative,” said Keith Dawkins, Nicktoons General Manager, in a statement.

‘Rush Zone’ debuts in September and will end in February with a one-hour movie the day before Super Bowl XLV.
