When ‘Hannah Montana’ hits the history books next year, look for Miley Cyrus‘s $10,000 Hannah wig to remain intact – not burned to a crisp, as she originally joked.

“I’m not gonna burn it,” Cyrus says. “I made a joke, and people took it very literal, and pictured me over my campfire in Nashville burning my $10,000 wig that has been Disney’s pride and joy for five years. So, I’m not gonna do that to people’s dreams. But, I was just kidding.”

Cyrus has played Disney’s career-making role of Hannah Montana since 2006. The show begins airing episodes of its fourth and final season of ‘Hannah’ July 11. The fourth season is also being called ‘Hannah Montana Forever.’

Cyrus, 17, has three movies on the way, and her newest CD, ‘Can’t Be Tamed,’ came out June 18. Her first so-called adult movie, April’s ‘The Last Song,’ was a commercial success.

She joked earlier this year that her Hannah Montana blonde wig, which represents the alter-ago of her real person Miley Cyrus, would be burned post-TV. “As soon as that last episode is over, one wig will be in a museum and one will be burned,” she said, reportedly. “That way, I can’t put it on again. It will be the end of an era.”

She recently backpedaled, saying instead that she would keep one wig, and the other would be immortalized in a museum.

“I’ll probably keep one, and someone will take the other, put it in a museum or something,” Cyrus says. “I’m not sure what will happen with it. But, I’d like to have at least one, so if I ever, you know, want to do it again, I could. Or, my little sister has already got dibs and wants to wear it to school the next day. I think she’ll have to have, like, a bodyguard with her to take that thing, because people, you know, I think it comes with, like, security, because it’s pretty cool.”

Cyrus’ ‘Hannah’ costar Emily Osment, who plays Lilly Truscott and Lola, was also asked what she will do with her wigs after the show. (Osment has said she has many wigs, including pink, purple and white.) Osment joked that she wouldn’t be setting fire to her hair.

“I don’t know why she said that,” Osment says. “Are you kidding?  I was like, ‘I’m keeping my Lola wig.’ She’s like, ‘I’m burning the ‘Hannah’ Wig. Because it itches.’ But, I don’t know, I like the white Lola wig. I think it’s cute. I might steal it for sure.”

For his part, costar Moises Arias, who plays Rico, joked of reflecting what he would like to take from the set. “Well, we have a new Rico set this year, so there’s a new sign of me holding a pizza. I would love to take that home. Because it’s an enormous poster, just blown up of me.”
