Amber Tamblyn is joining Fox’s ‘House’ this coming season as a med student recruited to join House’s team.
In other words, Joan of Arcadia has gone from talking to God to merely working for someone with a God complex.
Tamblyn’s character, who will appear in multiple episodes, is described as brilliant and aggressive, which explains why she winds up brainbusting alongside the likes of Foreman and Chase even though she’s not technically qualified to practice medicine.
The newb’s arrival will serve to offset the short-term absence of Dr. Remy “Thirteen” Hadley, as Olivia Wilde takes time to lens the movie ‘Cowboys & Aliens.’
In addition to the aforementioned ‘Joan of Arcadia’ – for which she earned Emmy and Golden Globe nominations – Tamblyn has had roles on ‘The Unusuals,’ ‘Boston Public’ and ‘General Hospital.’
Her upcoming big screen credits include Danny Boyle’s ’127 Hours’ (opposite James Franco) and ‘Main Street’ (with Orlando Bloom and Colin Firth).
‘House’ premieres its seventh season on Monday, September 20.
