The Situation, Pauly D. et al will be back for more ‘Jersey Shore,’ having used their tanned ‘n’ toned biceps to strong-arm MTV into inflating their paychecks for coming seasons.
Most of the cast of the reality series, which is about to launch its second season, had been seeking upwards of a 200 percent pay raise – to $30,000 per episode. And as recently as Monday, they had waged a “strike” and declined to show up for work, unless they got their due.
As of late Monday, the Hollywood Reporter hears, the gang was close to a deal in which MTV would have paid “close” to their aforementioned weekly ask. Only Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino stands poised to collect a markedly higher payday: TMZ says he has been offered a boffo bonus if ‘Jersey Shore’ hits certain ratings goals.
And while some reports claimed that MTV was only interested in bringing back The Situation, Snooki, J-WOWW and Pauly D, a source tells THR that all of the regulars – including “her” and “that other guy” – are being welcomed back.
