The fall TV season is still weeks away, but already – and as is expected – roles are being recast on shows that have yet to hit the airwaves.
On CBS’ multigenerational cop drama ‘Blue Bloods‘ (airing Fridays at 10/9c), ‘Rescue Me’ mainstay Andrea Roth has been recruited to replace Wendy Moniz as the love interest for Tom Selleck’s police captain character. EW.com cites “creative reasons” for recasting the recurring role.
Also on CBS, the young adult male at the center of the Twitter-inspired ‘S#*! My Dad Says’ (Thursdays at 8:30) will now be played by Jonathan Sadowski (‘American Dreams’), Deadline reports. Ryan Devlin (‘Cougar Town’s Smith) played exasperated son to opinionated William Shatner in the pilot.
Over on NBC, the midseason sitcom ‘Friends With Benefits‘ has replaced Fran Kranz (‘Dollhouse’s Topher) with Zach Cregger (‘Miss March’), says Deadline. Cregger assumes the role of a nerdy multi-millionaire.
