While Lindsay Lohan has begun her jail stint in L.A. for what police say will be 14 days, one of her old costars and friends says the length of the jail stay is not a big deal.
“I mean, she only has to do 14 days. That’s like camp,” Nick Cannon told Fancast at Wednesday’s taping of his NBC show ‘America’s Got Talent.’ “She will be fine.”
Although Lohan’s support system has occasionally been suspect, with her father Michael having spent several years in jail and mother Dina producing an E! reality show (2008’s ‘Living Lohan’) about the family’s personal life, Cannon, who costarred with Lohan in the 2006 Golden Globe-nominated drama ‘Bobby,’ said the actress is supported by many people – though made no reference to how good they are.
“She’s going to get past it,” Cannon says. “She has a lot of people supporting her.”
How Is Lindsay Adjusting To Prison Life?:
Cannon and Lohan were reported to have been briefly romantically linked in 2005, after the actress’ split from ‘That 70s Show’ actor Wilmer Valderrama. Cannon reportedly said at the time, “I’m very fond of her. She’s a very beautiful person and a great friend of mine.”
Lohan began serving a 90-day jail sentence Tuesday for a probation violation stemming from a 2007 drunk driving arrest, though she is expected to only serve a portion of the judge’s stiff penalty. Lohan was reported to have been distressed leading up to her jail stay, which is her first stint behind bars more than a few hours.
