Celebrate DC Comics’ 75th Anniversary On Demand Now

In celebration of the 75th anniversary of DC Comics, Comcast On Demand is featuring a wide selection of comic-book movies from the publishing giant, featuring the blockbuster Academy Award-winning film The Dark Knight. Other options include the brand new release The Losers, as well as Superman Returns, Constantine and V For Vendetta, all films based upon graphic novel sources.

Comic-Con may be over, but you can keep the spirit alive by checking out more comic-book movies On Demand as well, including the Spartan spectacle 300 and Marvel’s vampire hunter Blade.

There is also a plethora of animated films available On Demand now as well, which is an arena that DC has explored with great success and admirable quality. Batman: The Animated Series was a hugely influential show when it debuted in the early 90s, and the movies it spawned – Mask of the Phantasm, Mystery of the Batwoman and Subzero – are definitely worth checking out.

A spinoff of that series, called Batman Beyond, featured Bruce Wayne as an old man mentoring the Batman of the future, and Batman Beyond: The Return of the Joker gives us a look at what happened to the Clown Prince of Crime as well.

Another story of the Caped Crusader, entitled Batman: Gotham Knight, fits into the timeline of the Christopher Nolan film franchise – six animated shorts filling in the gap between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. You can also watch him take on a legendary vampire in The Batman vs. Dracula, or team up with Superman in Superman/Batman: Public Enemies.

Speaking of the Man of Steel, you can take a break from Gotham City to visit Metropolis and watch him take on a lethal foe in Superman: Doomsday, or you can prepare for the upcoming exploits of Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan by checking out Green Lantern: First Flight.

Eventually, though, you’ll need to go back to Gotham to partake of the latest film in DC’s animated archives – Batman: Under the Red Hood, which premiered at Comic-Con and tells the story of what happens when a more ruthless vigilante comes to town.

All of these great movies are available now on Comcast On Demand – so tune in, dial it up and nerd out with the best of them!
