Scott Bakula: A ‘Quantum Leap’ Movie Is In The Works

Scott Bakula recently dropped a nice bit of news that there’s a movie version of the classic and much-beloved series ‘Quantum Leap’ in the works, although he’s also confirmed someone else will play the lead this time around. The show, created by TV legend Donald P. Bellisario, starred Bakula as Sam Beckett, a scientist who had to leap back and forth through time and into people’s bodies to put right what once went wrong, and Dean Stockwell as Al, his guide who helped him figure out what that was.

“The good news is that Don is working on the film script and has a big time Hollywood producer who wants to do it,” Bakula said at the ‘Quantum Leap’ panel at Comic-Con. “It’s about time.”

He also admitted that he’s now too old to reprise his role, but “Dean and I will have a part in it somehow. Don did say that as he was writing, he told me he was having trouble, ‘getting you and Dean out of my head.’ But I know he will do it.”
