Game Over: TBS Cancels ‘My Boys’

TBS has asked the gals and guys of ‘My Boys‘ to sit the bench – forever – following a four-year run.

The comedy aired its Season 4 finale just this past Sunday.

Though the cancellation comes as no great shock – despite its assorted merits, ‘My Boys’ never really generated gobs of buzz beyond its core fan base – there is some irony in TBS’ decision. After all, series lead Jordana Spiro famously had to bow out of the new NBC comedy ‘Love Bites’ when Turner enforced a clause in her contract. They wanted her available, the rationale was, in case ‘My Boys’ called for a renewal.

Similarly, ‘My Boys’ Kyle Howard (who plays Bobby) had landed a role on the NBC midseasom rom-com ‘Perfect Couples,’ only to have to cede it to Kyle Bornheimer.

Might Spiro be able to shoehorn her way back onto ‘Love Bites’? Stay tuned for the latest twist in this saga.
