Maybe it’s just good ol’ fashioned ribbing or maybe they are all just jealous, but so far the reaction from Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino‘s ‘Jersey Shore‘ cast mates and, er, friends (?) to his being on ‘Dancing with the Stars‘ isn’t exactly supportive.

Take Sammi Giancola – the self-proclaimed “Sweetheart” of the GTL crew. She told Fancast at Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards that while she wishes Mike well on ‘DWTS’ (which debuts its 11th season on September 20), she didn’t exactly jump to support his dancing moves. When asked if he’s a good dancer, she simply said, “He is from Jersey, so he can definitely fist-pump.”

I don’t know what Carrie Ann, Bruno or Len would think (uh, yeah I do – they’ll hate it!), but I don’t think fist-pumping alone will get the ab-tacular reality-TV star very far in the competition.

From dancing to romancing, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi says there’s no way the Situation will be cozying up to his dancing partner, the smoking hot Karina Smirnoff, any time soon. “Mike doesn’t have any game,” she tells People.com. “He thinks he does, but he doesn’t. Karina’s just going to run away.”

Paul “Pauly D” Delvecchio agreed: “That’s going to be a challenge for him. I know he likes the challenge.”

Meanwhile, Snooki revealed on Ryan Seacrest’s KISS-FM radio show on Tuesday that The Situation knows he’s “in over his head” when it comes to ‘DWTS.’ As she also quipped to People.com, “I know he can’t dance.”

He might not be able to dance, but those abs rock and that’s worth tuning in for, no? (Silence.) Eh, maybe not.
