Like it or not, the ‘Bachelor Pad’ finale erupted with a win-win for big-time competitors Natalie Getz and David Good, who both took a chance in trusting each other’s friendship and ended up splitting the $250K prize money. Looks like friends with bennies make for even bigger bennies!
When we sat down in a joint conference call to discuss what the two were planning on doing with the money, as well as the status of their relationship, our fragile disposition was not prepared to hear the three scary words that came out of Mr. Good’s choppers: Man Code Book!!!
Yup. We’re freakin serious. While Natalie is not surprisingly going to dive into the world of fashion (didn’t you notice the plethora of bubble skirts she wore on the show?), Dave made our ears explode when he announced his masculine endeavors in the literary world entitled “The Man Code: A Woman’s Guide to Cracking the Tough Guy.” Wow. Does this mean we can toss out “He’s Just Not That Into You”?
Before we throw all our goodies away, here’s some of the back-and-forth we had with the happy richer twosome:
Looking back, how did you feel about everyone labeling you the eternal bridesmaid yet you end up with a man at the end of the show?
Natalie: At the time that hurt because I was sleep deprived, and I had a lot of emotions in that game. But I don’t believe in that statement at all. I was not there to find love. Initially, I was there for the money, so I wasn’t trying to show people my sensitive relationship side.
And the fact that Dave and I—it’s not like we’re in serious relationship, but we definitely have a little bit more than a friendship going on. So they can bite me.
Where’s your relationship now?
Natalie: Dave and I kind of talked about now that we’ve won this money we can kind of like split on a getaway. It would be fun to take a vacation, go somewhere tropical and fun and kind of celebrate together. We haven’t actually talked about that yet because of the distance, so crazy-busy celebrating.
David: Yes. It’s difficult right now. It’s like we win the money and all this. We live 2,000 miles apart and we need to capitalize on it and do the right things and go and meet with people and do these interviews and everything. It’s been difficult for us, but she’s right.
Watch Dave get in touch with his feminine side to win:
Have you spent some of the money yet?
David: I’ve already started getting my Man Code book in line. That’s what I’m putting a lot of money towards.
Natalie: Well, I’m not going to lie. I bought two new pairs of shoes. And I need to pay off my student loans because that’s what definitely been a stress. I kind of want to be smart about [the money], invest it, check out that charity for prostate cancer I talked about and we’ll see. Then it’ll probably be all gone.
What do you think of Kovacs and Elizabeth?
David: First off, they are both my friends, and I love them to death. [But] I do not like them when they are together. I know they’re going to be both happy…but I’m glad they are not together because you can see why.
How are you gonna celebrate?
David: I’m trying to plan something big with Natalie. We’re going to have a party for everybody on the show and everybody involved, so we’re not selfish with the money. We can celebrate with the people that helped get us there, and I’m sure you guys will hear about it because it’s not going to be a small bash. It’s going to be somewhere big and it’s going to be something big.
What does the future hold for you guys? Any future TV appearances?
Natalie: Before I went to ‘The Bachelor,’ I’d never even thought about doing anything TV related, obviously. My focus is the fashion industry. It’s so nice that I won this money because now I can actually go back to what I went to school for and my focus is fashion styling. I’m gaining connections and networking slowly in the entertainment industry hoping to get there.
David: I myself, I’m going to a six-month, 100-city book tour as soon as my book releases. Probably around the end of November I’ll be doing a book tour so that’s going to take up quite a bit of a time.
Are you happy with Nat and Dave as the winners? And more importantly, would you be willing to read love advice from a man who’s chest-size is most likely bigger than yours?
