What do you do when you’re a Fox News star that has slowly fallen off of liberal’s target list for complaints? Turn to Comedy Central’s Jon Stewart. That’s just what Bill O’Reilly did when Stewart joined the conservative talking head on ‘The O’Reilly Factor‘ Wednesday night.
“Isn’t it interesting that a couple of years ago I was target No. 1?” asked O’Reilly. “Now I’m like 15 on the list.”
“You’ve been overtaken by a more extreme version of you,” Stewart retorted. “You’re like Fox 1.0. You’re the beta version. Fox 2.0 has jumped over you to an extent that I don’t think you could ever dream of.”
He added, “I bet you can’t believe what you’ve unleashed,” seemingly a nod to O’Reilly’s fellow Fox man, Glenn Beck. “On this network [now], you’re left-wing.”
After some political barbs, Stewart decided to invite O’Reilly to his upcoming rally in Washington D.C., to which the right-winger said, “Every dope dealer within a hundred miles is going to be at the rally, Stewart. You know that.”
“We’re killing it, baby, we’re killing it,” Stewart said in a break between segments, according to the N.Y. Daily News.
The sparring match between these two news junkies will continue next week as O’Reilly will make a visit to ‘The Daily Show’ Monday.
