Karina Smirnoff sure knows how to keep her dancing partner, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, in line.

The professional ‘Dancing with the Stars‘ pro told us that she only “allows” the well-known party boy from MTV’s ‘Jersey Shore‘ to go out once a week. And, get this: He’s obeying.

“Yeah, you know what? I’m really trying. I enjoy being here. I really don’t want to go home any time soon. I love L.A. So I’m learning the steps and trying to show people that there’s improvement there,” The Situation told us after Monday’s performance show.

But not so fast: “I’ll be honest with you. I am actually exhausted after every practice and love my bed. But at the same time, I think I might just have to go out this week because it’s been like three weeks and I definitely gotta go out, you know?”

“Once a week is okay with me,” says Smirnoff.

It seems the player is not only respecting the practice schedule of the show, but his pretty partner’s boundaries too.

“If I was flirting so soon [in the season] then I probably wouldn’t get the dance steps down at all. So I’m trying to show a little respect there because I know if we don’t get down the steps then that hurts here a little bit,” he says.

“And I’ll come at him with a stick,” jokes Smirnoff.

“Our practices are so much fun, but there hasn’t been any of that other stuff only because she does have a boyfriend and I’m trying to be respectful.”

He’s also quite respectful of the judges’ comments, telling us that he’s never been called pigeon-toed before. “No, definitely not,” he says. “It’s news to me. I never wore high heels before and I doubt many guys have. So it’s not very comfortable. I just take the criticism and move forward. You know, this is ‘Dancing with the Stars’ not ‘Dancing with the Professionals.'”

Fair enough.

Find Out Who Took the Top Spot in Week 2

Situation and Smirnoff earned a score of 18 for their Quickstep this week, which is considerably better than Week 1’s score of 15 for their Cha Cha Cha.
