A case of serious like between Marti and Lewis will only add to Alice’s hatin’ when the ‘Hellcats‘ flier (played by Aly Michalka) decides to take a flier on romance with her handsome base.

The budding relationship takes its first major step in this Wednesday’s episode (9/8c, on The CW), when Marti and Lewis get to discussing, if not doing some about, their mutual attraction.

“Yeah, it looks like the situation is going to heat up a bit!” Robbie Jones (Lewis) shares.

Following Lewis’ apparently drama-filled courtship of Alice (“He’s had his fill of her,” Jones reports), “Marti is a breath of fresh air, like, ‘Finally, a cool girl I really like and who’s not high maintenance.’ They’re really hitting it off.”

In recent weeks, Marti has been prompted to ponder her feelings for best bud Dan (Matt Barr), now that he has started dating her roommate Savannah (Ashley Tisdale). But before she dwells too much on her and Dan’s unspecified high-school past, Michalka says Marti is “distracted by Lewis, who she’s now having feelings for and starting to see.”

The Hellcats cheer squad’s reaction to the news might not be what you expect. Says Michalka, “Everybody’s like, ‘Yeah, cool, whatever.'”

Everybody, that is, except Alice.

Already a thorn in Marti’s side, seeing as she lost her plum spot on the championship squad to the nubile blonde newbie, Alice (Heather Hemmens) will see her ire only amplified by her ex’s choice of new girlfriend. That rivalry between the gals will downright boil over a few episodes down the road.

“You’re going to see a throwdown between Marti and Alice,” Michalka promises, “when it comes down to battling it out for a squad position.”
