‘The Munsters‘ original wolfboy thinks the idea of remaking that 1960s series bites.
News of the in-the-works redo broke last week, putting Bryan Fuller (‘Pushing Daisies’) at the helm of the NBC pilot.
Zero details are available, and certainly no casting has been discussed. But if the project does gain any traction, Patrick believes its success hinges on the consideration of one and only one actor to fill Fred Gwynne‘s sizable shoes as the freaky family’s patriarch, Herman.
“Unless they get Brad Garrett (‘Everybody Loves Raymond’)… it’s not going to do well,” he states.
Indeed, standing at 6-foot-8 1/2, Garrett (who was last seen on TV in Fox’s ‘Til Death’) wouldn’t need the precarious elevator shoes that Gwynne employed to make Hermann a larger-than-life monstrosity.
Who here seconds Butch Patrick’s casting of Herman? And who would you cast as Lily, Marilyn (Kristen Bell, hello!) and Grandpa?
