Jennifer Lopez and Ryan Seacrest: Are they or aren’t they … feuding?

That’s the question right out of the gate, as rumors of clashing between the two power players are already surfacing, just one week into filming auditions for Season 10 of ‘American Idol.’

The smackdown is on … between the gossip weeklies at least, which offer contradicting reports from the new ‘Idol’ set.

In one corner is In Touch, which reports Seacrest and Lopez are feuding over such important celeb status issues as dressing rooms and top billing.

“Ryan was the one who first suggested Jennifer, but now he’s starting to regret it, because she’s acting like she’s a much bigger star than he is,” says an insider to In Touch. “Ryan knows the diva behavior is likely to get worse before it gets better. Producers are trying to get them to make peace, but their egos are both pretty big.”

In the other corner, Us Weekly swats at the pesky rumor, reporting that the bickering is bunk.

“I don’t know where they get this stuff! They’ve barely started work but are getting along great. They actually really like each other,” says someone inside J.Lo’s camp to Us Weekly.

I have to agree, generally speaking…where do ‘they’ get this stuff from??? Out-of-work writers on Planet Envy?

So far, what is true is J.Lo’s vow to be the ‘tough’ judge on the panel for the upcoming season, premiering in January. Lopez says she plans to put the ‘Idol’ hopefuls ‘through the wringer.’

Fox confirmed the painstakingly long-rumored replacements to the ‘Idol’ judges’ panel in late September–Lopez, 41, signed a deal worth $12 million, while Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler reportedly will earn $18 million for his first TV gig.

What do you think of all the ‘Idol’ chatter surrounding the new season?
