CBS’ success with time-period swaps continued on Sunday, as the transplanted ‘CSI: Miami‘ returned to an audience of 11.84 million total viewers. Though down slightly from its May finale, ‘Miami’s viewership was 22 percent greater than ‘Cold Case’ delivered in the Sunday-at-10 slot a year ago.

Already this fall, CBS has seen its relocation of both ‘The Big Bang Theory’ (now leading off Thursdays) and ‘CSI: NY’ (to Fridays at 9/8c) pay off, with both shows dominating their time slots.

Other Sunday ratings notes:

* NBC’s coverage of the Bears-Giants NFL game averaged 18.6 million viewers (up some 20 percent versus last week’s match-up) and ruled the demos.

* In its regular time slot premiere (Sundays at 9), CBS’ ‘Undercover Boss‘ (13.08 million viewers) improved on its week-ago audience, tying ‘Desperate Housewives‘ in viewers. ‘Housewives,’ up a tick from its own premiere (13.05 mil), delivered the best 18-to-49 demos for non-sports programming.
