Who’s going from the B list to the boardroom?
‘The Apprentice‘ is gearing up for its eleventh season, which will be another celebrity edition.
Filming is set to begin next week, and The New York Post is reporting the first batch of celebrities rumored to be among the cast.
Embattled former ‘View‘ co-host Star Jones is said to be boardroom-bound, as well as reality TV addict Lisa Rinna (‘DWTS,’ ‘Harry Loves Lisa’). Musically inclined stars Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray and Grammy-winner Dionne Warwick are also reportedly on board. The bizarre and bizarrely watchable La Toya Jackson could be getting schooled by The Donald too.
‘Survivor’ winner Richard Hatch, former baseball player Jose Canseco, model Niki Taylor and rapper Lil’ John are also rumored to be on the list, says TMZ.
As always, you’ll need to adjust your definition of ‘celebrity’ accordingly, but it’s well-intentioned entertainment nonetheless, as the group of notable names compete in challenges to raise money for their favorite charities.
Previous winners of ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ include Piers Morgan (Season 7), Joan Rivers (Season 8), and Bret Michaels (Season 9).
Trump is getting thumped by the competition this year–the current installment of ‘The Apprentice‘ is a boardroom bust, with the lowest ratings the Donald Trump series has ever seen since it premiered in 2004.
The new season of ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ will air on NBC sometime in 2011.
What do you think of the names on this list? Can these celebrities help the reality show rebound … or is it time for NBC to fire ‘The Apprentice’?
