The new CBS daytime chatfest ‘The Talk‘ debuts Monday, and the network has unveiled the first week’s line-up of high-profile guests.
Here’s who will be talking up a storm with hosts Julie Chen, Leah Remini, Sharon Osbourne, Sara Gilbert, Holly Robinson Peete and Marissa Jaret Winokur during their premiere week.
The six (six!) co-hosts will welcome model Christie Brinkley on Monday; new ‘American Idol‘ judge Jennifer Lopez on Tuesday; Melissa Rycroft (‘The Bachelor‘) and former South Carolina first lady Jenny Sanford on Wednesday; actress Chandra Wilson (‘Grey’s Anatomy‘) on Thursday; and Jamie Lee Curtis, current ‘Dancing with the Stars‘ contestant Rick Fox and his partner Cheryl Burke on Friday.
With a round-table of ladies gabbing on daytime, comparisons to ABC’s ‘The View‘ are inevitable, but CBS dismisses that kind of ‘Talk.’
“We’re not really competing against them for ratings or guests,” a CBS source told The Hollywood Reporter.
Not that they’re worried or anything, but ‘The View’ has booked some notable names next week as well. Thorn in Sarah Palin’s side, Levi Johnston is Monday’s guest, who’ll no doubt discuss Bristol’s ‘Dancing’ and his upcoming reality series, ‘Loving Levi the Road to the Mayor’s Office.’
On Tuesday, ‘The View’ gets satirical with Stephen Colbert, Arianna Huffington and guest co-host Maria Shriver; while Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, Rod Stewart and guest co-host Patricia Heaton appear Wednesday. The ladies signed up legend Elton John for a performance on Thursday, along with Leon Russell and T Bone Burnett, while Tyler Perry checks in Friday.
‘The Talk’ premieres Monday, October 18th on CBS, airing live at 2 p.m. EST/1 p.m. Central, and airing taped at 1 p.m. on the west coast.
