ABC is going green in more ways than one by recycling Marvel’s Incredible Hulk character for a new, live-action series.
This reboot of the Hulk – who was first portrayed on the small screen by Bill Bixby (as alter ego David Banner) and Lou Ferrigno (when he got angrrrrry) – is one of two high-priority projects in development at Marvel Television, says The Hollywood Reporter.
The other is ‘Cloak and Dagger,’ based on the comic book series about a pair of runaway teens who develop super powers. That TV adaptation is being pitched to ABC Family.
More recently, the big green guy has been depicted on the silver screen, in a series of two ‘Hulk’ movies and next in Joss Whedon’s ‘The Avengers’ (where Mark Ruffalo will portray Dr. Banner).
News of the new Hulk comes on the heels of reports that David E. Kelley is developing for Warner Bros. TV a new ‘Wonder Woman’ series.
