“I have a taste for luxury, and luxury done threw my broke heiney to the curb,” should be Sonja Tremont-Morgan’s new intro on the ‘Real Housewives of New York.’
On Wednesday Morgan filed for bankruptcy, listing $19.8 million in debt and $13.5 million in assets on paper, reports Celebuzz.
So how did Miss Luxury lose her fortune? The 46-year-old reality star blames a legal dispute with Hannibal Pictures, Inc., over a failed movie project called ‘Fast Flash to Bang Time’ starring John Travolta. She claims the actor was too demanding and that her production company, har, was unable to meet his requirements to move forward. The film stopped production in 2006, and shortly thereafter, Hannibal Pictures sued Morgan’s company for $7 million and won. Morgan has since filed an appeal.
If being on Travolta’s black list and losing a pretty penny weren’t enough, the socialite attests that her acrimonious and unresolved divorce with J.P. Morgan descendant John Adams has also contributed to her financial mess. (We’d turn to the bottle and get a DUI in Long Island just like you if we were in your stilettos, Sonja.)
Morgan isn’t the first rich poor soul from the ‘Real Housewives’ franchise who’s filed for Chapter 11. According to WSJ.com, Teresa Giudice and her hubby Joe filed earlier this year, and most recently, the notorious Cirque du Salahis filed for Chapter 7.
What do you think of all these ‘Real Housewives’ bankruptcies? We’re smelling a ‘Real Housewives Gone Broke’ spin-off….
